Spadarvet was a working farm, and Carl Larsson shares with us scenes such as Johan and Backstrom cutting wood in the snowy forest, Little Esbjorn, his son, with Johan in the carpenter's shop, Tekla and little Kersti leading the frisky cows to pasture in the sun-drenched woods, the children digging potatoes in the fields, and everyone at service in the village church.
