Once in time lived a boy named Sudan. He had his father's eyes and his father's lips, but he had hair just like his mother. It giggled when he talked and roared when he walked and often sprouted wings. What enchanted hair! But grown-ups didn't like it, and the children teased him about it until he felt blue and mad and just plain evil. One day he walked away from all of them and discovered, on his own, a way to belong, enchanted hair and all.
