The very first children's book by Dr. Seuss published in 1937.
A boy imagine a series of incredible sights on his way home from school so that he will have an interesting report to give his father.
*Note that the earlier edition (pre-1978) draws on harmful Asian stereotypes—exaggerated physical features and cultural markers—that have long been criticized for promoting racial caricatures. In 1978, Dr. Seuss revised the book to address these concerns but the character still retained some caricature-like aspects and so in March 2021, Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced that this book—along with five others—would cease further publication due to “hurtful and wrong” imagery.
