Chendru: The Boy and the Tiger

This true story of Chendru and his tiger is the work of Astrid Bergman Sucksdorff. During a period of two years she lived in India among the Murias, a primitive tribe in the middle of that vast country. As the members of the tribe went about their daily tasks, Astrid Bergman Sucksdorff photographed them, taking special interest in Chendru and his golden tiger cub. Her striking beautiful full-color photographs and William Sansom's lyric English version of the story make this an outstanding book, which will be appreciated by children and adults alike.
