Emma

For her seventy-second birthday, Emma Stern receives a painting of the little village beyond the mountains, where she was born. The village, however, looks nothing like she remembers, only adding to Emma's Loneliness. Rather than feel sorry for herself, Emma decides to buy some paints and make it right! Sitting by her window, she paints her village the way she has always recalled it. Soon her walls are covered with beautiful paintings of her friends and her favorite places, keeping her company during the golden years of her life.
