Jewish Holiday Fun tells about the legends and traditions of the Jewish people. Folklore, foods, and fun projects are included. Some of our modern-day foods, such as challah, honey cake and hamantaschen have their origins in events that took place long ago and are now celebrated by holidays. Ceremonial foods, such as the Passover matzoh, have deep meaning and they are described for each holiday. There is an explanation of the Jewish calendar and illustrations of the Hebrew alphabet. There are also a Noah's Ark, New Year's cards, Isaac and Rebecca paper dolls dressed in ancient ceremonial robes, Purim puppets, a seder plate, a dreidel, and an Israeli flag. You will be able to make everything yourself, mostly using things you can find around the house.
