Little Runner thinks he's finally old enough to join the big Indian boys in the New Year's celebration. He wants to wear old clothes and scary masks, just like them. Most of all, he wants the maple sugar the big boys get. But Mother can't be fooled, until Little Runner thinks of a funny trick to get what he wants.
