Zippy is a real little chimpanzee from the jungles of Africa. He was adopted by Lee when he was three months old and has lived with Lee ever since. He has his own little bed and toys and specially made clothes, and Lee treats him always as if he were a child. He is now three and one-half years old. Zippy is a well-known performer on the stage and has appeared on such television programs as Ed Sullivan's show and the howdy-Doody program. Though Zippy cannot speak, he understands what is said to him, and he does just what Lee tells him to do. This book is the true story of his life with Lee.
