Rascal: A Memoir of a Better Era

Rascal is an autobiographical novel by Sterling North about his childhood in Wisconsin in 1918 and his adventures with a pet raccoon he named Rascal. The heartwarming story follows the boy and his mischievous companion through a year of fishing, camping, and exploring, while also touching on themes of loss (his mother's death), family, and the changing world. It was adapted into a popular Walt Disney film in 1969.
