Peter ventures into the meadow despite his grandfather’s warning about a dangerous wolf. With the help of his animal friends, especially a little bird, Peter cleverly captures the wolf. This retelling of Prokofiev’s musical tale introduces children to orchestral instruments, with different characters represented by different instruments. Janet Schulman’s adaptation gives the wolf and duck a gentler ending than the traditional story.
