This handsome picture-puzzle book contains more than a dozen specific mazes–some from formal gardens, others used in scientific experiments with rats, some created by the author, and some going back to the days of ancient Egypt. Mazes have a long history and something of this intriguing story is included in the introduction.
None are as easy to solve as they appear to be, which is apt to be characteristic of mazes.
This is a book for children to have fun with, so parents and teachers should avoid if possible trying to take too much advantage of its obvious educational benefits.
