One morning a fiddler walks into town with his cat trailing at his heels. And a very special cat she is, too, for every time the fiddler tucks his fiddle under his chin and begins to play, the cat starts dancing. She dances to the music of jigs, waltzes and lullabies–something for everyone–and never have the townspeople been so happy...until the grouchy old king sends the fiddler away and takes the cat for himself. True, when he commands her to dance to the music of the court musicians, the cat dances. But so does the king. And so do all the ladies and gentleman of the court, and they can't stop dancing! "Stop! Stop!" cries the king, growing very tired, but the dancing continues, faster and faster, as the story builds to its hilarious climax and of course a happy ending.
