School's out and the Cut-Ups are on the loose again. Having served the most detention in the history of education, Spud and Joe lose no time putting school–and killjoy principal Lamar J. Spurgle–far behind them. And Camp Custer looks like the perfect cut-up haven–until the head counselor arrives. "Maybe it's just a dream," says Spud. No, it's Lamar J. Spurgle! And he's not the only one squelching the Cut-Ups' plans. Also on hand are Charles Andrew Frothingham, camp goody-two-shoes and Spurgle's nephew, as well as the disaster mastermind Mary Frances Hooley, and a mystery cut-up whose stunts leave Spud and Joe outclassed, outwitted, and prime suspects.
