Mrs. Brubeck is a perpetual worrier who decides to proactively find "Trouble" to prevent it from sneaking up on her and her granddaughter. She searches high and low throughout her house, checking under the bed, in the closet, and elsewhere. She finds "him" (Trouble) in her own bed, personified as an unexpected, tricky, and surprise-loving entity. The story is a whimsical, "folk-type" tale that explores anxiety, worrying, and the nature of unexpected, daily troubles.
