The snowshoe rabbit, as this story shows, adapts constantly to the changing landscape in which they live. The young reader will begin, of course, by caring about worried Benny Bunny, who doesn't understand yet what is happening to him. But children can be led very easily from this story to a real interest in the marvelous ways in which living creatures adapt to their environments.
