Ask any ogre. He will tell you: "People are delicious."

Take this particular ogre, for instance. He likes to eat children for breakfast, better than anything else in the world. Every day he storms into the neighboring town, foraging for his morning meal. Terrified parents soon begin hiding their children, and at last the hungry ogre has to put up with a skimpy diet of gruel and cold potatoes.

He grows grumpier and grumpier until he spies young Zeralda taking her father's farm produce to market. Zeralda, who lives in a clearing in the woods, doesn't know much about ogres. But then this ogre doesn't know very much about Zeralda, either! When they come face to face, at last, marvelously funny things begin to happen.
